Registering interest
An email address, the kind of site you told us it is, and the date you gave them. That is the whole record. It is used to send you a confirmation and, later, one message when there is something to say. Every message carries a link that removes you, and using it deletes the record rather than flagging it.
The application itself
Airborne does not send us your location, your radius, your sighting history or anything about what has flown over a site. That database is a file on the machine running it.
This website
No advertising, no third-party analytics, no cookie banner, because there is nothing to consent to. The server keeps ordinary access logs for a fortnight to see what is broken. The live demo is served from a cache that one scheduled job fills, so your browser never talks to an aviation data source and nothing about you reaches one.
Your rights
Ask for a copy of what we hold, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, by writing to rob@whatsairborne.com. You will get an answer within a few days, from a person rather than a form. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
